Please go through the Descriptive questions posted in the Bank Recruitment exams section to get an idea on what type of questions to expect and how to attempt them. Regular reading of the current affairs section as also current affairs topics covered in Article, Feature and Cover Story sections will help you in preparing well. As for communication skill questions these type of questions require you to comment on a situation. For example topics like Moral policing, sharing knowledge globally, mobile mania sans manners etc are given to check your communication skills. There can also be argumentative questions asking you to comment on both positive and negative of a topic or a situation. Question on communication skill also can ask you to write letter to say the local authorities about some problem in your area, etc.

The optional subjects should be chosen based on your previous knowledge and interest in a subject. Read in Civil Services Exam section on how to prepare for the exam.

The change in pattern of exam is still in discussion stage. It is not known yet when the UPSC plans to bring the change in pattern of the exam. We suggest you continue to prepare according to the existing pattern and not bother yet about any change. UPSC will give enough lead time to all before changing the pattern.
